Friday 6th May – bike **** – Two rivers including lunch at Landguard – sunny and warm:).

What a top day here in Felixstowe, sunny and warm all day with a light to moderate breeze from the south. Usual morning at home, exercises in the back garden interspersed with taking pics of the cats, Mags flowers and some bugs while Mag got her hands dirty as usual repotting and cutting the grass. Being such a lovely day, it was then time to pack a picnic and head out on our bikes, leaving home at 12.45 we decided not to go too far so went to Landguard via Langer Park. I went to the view point first but not many ships in so quickly went to join Mag on the old wooden sleepers for a yummy chicken sandwich and enjoy the peace and quiet. Not much boat action today, the dredging of recent weeks seems to have stopped just a few yachts and the odd fishing boat. The wind had filled in from the south with maybe just enough for a foil, if only I had some foil kit, hopefully it will be sorted in the next couple of weeks:) After our cuppa served in our Surfers Against Sewage cups, still going strong after 15 years we set off back through the nature reserve and down onto the prom. I spot Al Wiz repairing a beach hut so stop to chat while Mag continues to Lidl and home. I then carry onto the Ferry where the tide is high, taking a few pics I carry on along the Deben path to Kings Fleet and up Marsh Lane to the woods at The Grove where the wild garlic is as wonderful as ever. Home for a cuppa and a free pastry from Lidl before Mag has to take Benny the cat to the vets which cost an arm and a leg but he is well worth every penny:) Nice day!
